Heating and cooling for Hampstead homes

HeatMason designs heating and cooling around the home you have and the way you want to live in it. In Hampstead, that may mean improving an established heating system, planning a boiler replacement, exploring a heat pump or making a room more comfortable in summer.

Amir, our founder and principal engineer, reviews your enquiry, surveys your home and leads the project through installation oversight, commissioning and handover.

The local detail.
The individual home.

The postcode is only the starting point

Camden’s historic Hampstead appraisal describes cottages, substantial houses, villas and flats. That variety is a useful reminder: the right heating design cannot be chosen from a neighbourhood name.

We begin with your rooms, the existing system and what is not working well. Tell us about an upstairs room that stays cold, hot water that struggles at busy times or a space that holds too much summer heat. These details help define the problem before the conversation turns to equipment.

Decide what should stay

A wider upgrade does not have to mean replacing everything. We consider the current boiler or heat source, radiators, pipework, hot-water arrangements and controls together, then explain the reasons for the proposed changes.

If you are planning renovation work, tell us before layouts are settled. Space for equipment and routes through the building deserve a place in those decisions. If you are staying in the home during the work, the design conversation should also cover which rooms need to remain usable and where disruption would be hardest.

Give the outside equal attention

For a heat pump or air-conditioning installation, finding an indoor location is only part of the task. We consider the outdoor equipment, its surroundings, sound, pipe routes and access for future maintenance.

In a garden, courtyard or narrow side space, a location that looks convenient on a plan may present practical compromises. We discuss those before settling the proposal. For cooling, tell us whether the priority is a bedroom at night, a home office during the day or several spaces used at different times.

Check the right Hampstead designation

An NW3 address does not identify one conservation area. Camden publishes separate appraisals and property-specific Article 4 documents, so the relevant checks start with the actual building.

Check its conservation and listed status, any applicable direction and its planning history before committing to external alterations. Older appraisals explain architectural character; current council documents establish the restrictions that need checking now. Where permission or other consent is needed, it belongs in the project sequence before installation.

A little more clarity

Questions worth asking.

Can you improve the heating without replacing the boiler?

That may be an option. We assess the problem and the existing system before recommending a replacement. The proposal may focus on distribution, emitters or controls, or identify why a wider change makes sense.

Can you work with a flat in Hampstead?

Tell us about the building, your ownership arrangements and the work you want. Shared services, access and permissions can affect the options, so a flat needs its own assessment.

How does a project start?

Send an enquiry with your location, current system and priorities. Amir reviews it personally. Where a paid survey is appropriate, its scope and fee are agreed before booking.

The next useful question

Keep exploring.

What would you like your Hampstead home to do better?

Tell us which rooms or parts of the system need attention, and whether you have renovation plans. We will help establish the appropriate next step.
